X = Xyron #atozchallenge #crafts

Today rather than a craft we are looking at a craft tool!  Yes for today's letter 'X'  I have chosen to show you Xyron

They seem to be company that has made MANY crafting gadgets that are essential for the Crafter!  To be honest rather than trying to tell you about, here are some You Tube videos for you to watch!

Get the idea?  You need at least one of these gadgets in your stash! LOL!

W = Whitework #atozchallenge #crafts

I never thought the end of the alphabet would be so hard to find crafts for, but boy it is!

So today we onto the letter 'W', which for me means Whitework

Pretty?  The Royal School of Needlework has some good information on it, and also offer courses, if you REALLY want to get into it!

I really love the subtlety of it, but I wonder how dirty it gets when working it?

(hope you enjoy the video!)

Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see what craft I could possibly be talking about that starts with the letter X!

V = V-Pattern #atozchallenge #crafts

Who'd have thought trying to find a craft beginning with V would be so hard!  My mind has drawn a blank!  So for this post I am going to share a patter I found that I liked, that starts with the letter V!

I figured it is still crafting, so it is ok! LOL!

Here goes......................................... V-Pattern Reversible Baby Blanket

Isn't it lovely?  I found it whilst looking through Ravelry for inspiration and thought, 'Wow, what a great idea!'.

Believe it or not it is actually knitted, I normally only see this design with crochet so I am intrigued!

Do you like it?   Will you be making one?

U = Unpicking! #atozchallenge #crafts

The letter 'U' just had to cover UNPICKING for me in this A to Z Challenge!  Because no crafter has ever NOT unpicked or frogged as we like to call it!

So happy UNPICKING today!

T = Tatting #atozchallenge #crafts

Yesterday you never had a post because Sunday is the day off day, did you miss me?

Today we are looking at Tatting!  I never come across it before this challenge so I know nothing about it and I hold up my hands at that fact!  So I am going to list websites, videos and images and hopefully give you an idea of what it is and maybe you may just try it!

This seems to be a good supplier website Tatting

Finally found out which school!

You may remember this post I did back in Dec '11 about the school selection process in the UK.

Well 17th April was our deadline date for finding out which school Luke was being accepted into.  Deep down I was praying and hoping we would get our catchment school, but in reality I had resigned myself to the facet that he would be going to a school out of catchment.

I hate waiting for anything and this felt like the anxiety you get when waiting for exam results!

I checked the website on the 16th - nothing

Checked my emails at midnight on the 16th / 17th - nothing

Checked emails again at 3am - nothing

Told you I was anxious!

630am Simon got up to start his day and all I wanted was my laptop!  Logging onto the site, my heart was beating and my palms were sweating, I really wanted this to the be the outcome I had hoped for so badly.

When I read that he had got INTO OUR CATCHMENT school!  I couldn't believe it!  The tears just came, there was no stopping them!  Yes I cried!  Crazy I know, but it means he is with his nursery friends, the friendships he forms will be with children near his home, it is perfect!

To top it off after 2yrs of having my lovely husband commuting to Norwich, he to is finally going to be based 10mins from home and life for me couldn't be more perfect!

We are so happy and 2012 is certainly starting to look like a good year for us!

So my little boy is starting school in September at out catchment school!  Happy days ahead!
